In the midst of a bustling crowd,
a face stands alone.
It was an expressive face,
looking with
a masterful air of possesion .
His face symbolized
something tough,
for it bore the gifts of time.
It might have been chiseled in granite,
hard set, craggy , remorseless,
but, still contained somewhere
a streak of kindness.
It had deep lines upon it,
the scars of many a crisis.
Cold,gray eyes ,
looking shrewdly,
out from under the bristling brows.
It also boasted of an air of control,
In a minute,
from a hot flame of anger,
to a frigid and contemptuous indifference.
It also boasted
of an uncanny speciality,
of alternation
of success and failure,
For it was no ordinary face,
it was,
the face of SURVIVAL.
